La Diada de Sant Jordi - El dia de la rosa!
Celebrated on April 23rd - in England known as "St. Georges Day" - many kingdoms, countries and cities of which St. George is the patron Saint.
In Spanish tradition - celebrated in all the Spanish autonomous communities Aragon, Catalonia, and Valencia - on Sant Jordi Day, man and woman exchange gifts between sweethearts, loved and respected ones.
Historically, men gave women roses, and women gave men a book to celebrate the occasion.
Red is the traditional colour to give, to express your love and appreciation.
