Red Roses
About Red Roses
Roses have had meaning since the dawn of time. Everyone knows that a red rose is a symbol for love. But did you know that when you give a bouquet of white and red roses, it means unity?
The red rose (alongside the white) became one of the most prominent heraldic flowers in british history since the so-called War of Roses in 1455, which lasted for thirty years. It was fought between the House of Lancaster, whose emblem was a red rose and the House of York - with a white rose as its badge. As a result, in 1485 the House of Tudor was established on the English throne. Today you can still see their symbol, a white rose charged upon a red one - which is the flower emblem of England - expressing the unity of two rivals.
Giving red roses:
A single rose stands for simplicity. It's meaning: “I love you” or “I love still you” and a bouquet of roses in full bloom signifies gratitude. But not only romance, love and passion are resembled by the red rose - it also represents respect and courage.
OnlyRoses offers many different red roses:
Bright red rose brands such as Freedom, Charlotte, Sexy Red, Rockefeller or Forever Young...

... and dark, intense red roses with velvety petals such as Tinto, Black Magic or Black Baccara.
As they are especially strong and well cultivated, only red roses can grow up to 1.80m in stem length. When the farms in Ecuador cut them and prepare them for the trip to London, these roses have been growing for almost 300 days.
